Satisfied Sighs

There are many things that leave me with a satisfied sigh.
A good book or two or twelve.

A really good kiss.

Spending time with people who love you just for you and not what you do.

Really great, nutty flavored coffee with a little sugar-free caramel or French vanilla.

Celebrating the 4th of July.

Typing THE END on a manuscript.

My friend Merrill's coconut cream pie.

But I don't think there anything that satisfies me as much as being with my kids and grandchildren.

I took a couple of weeks off from blogging, got my manuscript in early and filled my house and our schedule with fun things to do.

We were so busy that we almost forgot to take pictures.

And we did some silly things - like stopping alongside the road to "moo" at the cows.

Apparently I'm really good or really bad at mooing, because when I did it - the cows came running.  They lined up at the fence and watched us with great interest.  I was driving and as I pulled forward and started to go - I mooed some more and much to the children's delight the cows came running after us.  So I think that qualifies me as a cow whisperer or cow mooer.

There were some down times. Rainy had a grand mal seizure and was taken by ambulance to the hospital because she'd collapsed and hit her head.  Here we are - Momma, Rainy, Poppy and Nonna at the hospital.  Thankfully, Rainy was feeling much better by the time this picture was taken.

Later at home, I had a chance to lie in bed with her and tell her Bible stories. When I finished, she looked at me and said, "Nonna, you know about a lot of stuff."  I thought maybe I'd bored her, but then she added, "I like that about you."

It was hard to take them back to the airport.  It tempted fiercely to move back to Kansas.  I actually tried to talk my daughter into moving to Montana.  But to no avail.

Even so, I am blessed and sighing in a most satisfied way.  May you have a day of satisfied sighs.
God Bless You!
