CATCHING UP

It's been way too long since I posted here.  I apologize for being long absent, but life got in the way as it often does. Hopefully we can do a little catching up.

I just returned from a research trip to Duluth, MN.  It was amazing and I learned a great deal on the trip.  I also bought up enough research books to keep me busy for quite some time.  And yes, there will be an upcoming series set in Duluth.  More to come on that later.

The trip was pretty amazing because my daughter Julie and her husband surprised us by coming up to meet us in Minneapolis with my husband's cousin Jean.  We had a great visit in between me meeting with the publishing folks.  Here are some photos.

After my meetings at Bethany House, I was off to Duluth.  It was blustery, rainy and cold.  It made for great ambiance and fodder for my books.  I enjoyed the people there, and as I mentioned, I managed to get a lot of research material.  I very much enjoyed the Maritime Museum at Canal Park.  Here's a shot of the aerial lift bridge and canal. There's some great stories behind the canal that I hope to incorporate into one of my books.

And of course we ate at Grandma's and had some yummy onion rings and chicken pot pie.

A couple of times during the trip we also got to see some dear friends.  Waving to Brittany and Esther, and a shout out to Dirk and Gretchen (and Katie, Dirk Jr. and Bill, of course.)


Now I'm back home and sorting through all the materials for the Duluth series and writing on the Willamette Bride's series which will debut March 2020.  Thanks for all the letters and comments and hopefully, I'll be better at keeping up now that I'm home.  Next month the third book in the Brookstone Brides series will come out.  Hope you get a chance to read it.
